Contract CLIA Lab Director

Job Overview
We are seeking a qualified CLIA Laboratory Director to oversee operations at our moderately complex laboratory. This position is part-time or contract-based, offering flexible hours and excluding major holidays and weekends. Most of the work will be done remotely on your timetable but does require 2 site visits per year in our Nashua, NH Clinic.

Responsibilities

• Ensure compliance with CLIA regulatory requirements in pre-analytic, analytic, and post-analytic phases.
• Oversee laboratory operations, including quality control, proficiency testing, and staff training.
• Verify that delegated duties are performed adequately and in compliance with CLIA standards.
• Be accessible for consultation via phone, email, or onsite visits as needed.
• Review and approve standard operating procedures (SOPs) and other laboratory documentation.

Qualifications:

To qualify as a CLIA Lab Director for a moderately complex lab, candidates must meet one of the following criteria:

• Bachelor’s Degree: In chemical, physical, biological, or clinical laboratory science with current ASCP (or equivalent) certification with at least two years of lab training/experience and two years supervising non-waived testing.
• Master’s Degree: In chemical, physical, biological, or clinical laboratory science with current ASCP (or equivalent) certification with at least one year of lab training or experience supervising a moderate-complexity lab.
• Doctoral Degree:
• A Ph.D. in chemical, physical, biological, or clinical laboratory science with board certification; AND
• One year of experience directing or supervising a CLIA-certified moderate-complexity lab.
• Licensed MD/DO/DPM:
• Board certification in anatomic or clinical pathology; OR
• At least 20 CME credit hours in laboratory practice if not board-certified; OR
• One year of experience directing or supervising non-waived tests.

Preferred Skills:

• Strong understanding of CLIA regulations.
• Excellent organizational and communication skills.
• Ability to guide and mentor laboratory staff effectively.

Job Types: Part-time, Contract

Pay: $80.00 - $100.00 per hour

Expected hours: 1 – 2 per week
