Role Overview:
We are seeking a task-oriented, empathetic individual to work as the HR Specialist for Gamers Guild. As the HR Specialist, you will oversee onboarding of new staff, focus on retention of existing employees, assist in the training of new and current employees on company policies, benefits, and SOPs, and assist in the performance management and reviews of all employees.
Key Responsibilities:
- New Employee Recruitment and Onboarding:
- Implement and oversee recruitment processes, from sourcing to onboarding, ensuring a seamless candidate experience.
- Interview candidates for openings across various departments.
- Work with management to determine staffing needs.
- Employee Retention and Upkeep
- Coordinate training and development initiatives to enhance employee skills and promote career growth.
- Maintain accurate HR records and prepare reports for management as needed.
- Performance Management and Reviews
- Manage employee relations, including conflict resolution, performance management, and disciplinary actions.
- Ensure employees are given quarterly performance reviews, and compensation is adjusted based on tenure and performance.
- Work with Management to deliver appropriate performance management training and documentation.
- Policy and SOP Training and Development
- Stay updated on HR trends and best practices to continuously improve HR operations.
- Develop and implement HR policies and procedures that align with company goals and values.
- Work with management to uphold employee performance standards through KPTI’s.
- Payroll and Benefits Administration
- Process and approve payroll using ADP.
- Review and verify timecards for accuracy before payroll submission
- Make pay rate changes and update employee records in ADP.
- Administer employee benefits, including enrollments, changes, and terminations.
- Assist employees with benefit questions and resolve any issues.
- Ensure compliance with payroll and benefits policies and regulations.
- Maintain accurate payroll and benefits records.
- Handle unemployment claims and process wage garnishments.
- Manage workers' compensation claims and coordinate with insurance providers.
- Investigate and resolve payroll discrepancies, including incorrect paychecks.

- Ability to work under pressure while maintaining a positive attitude.
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field preferred.
- Proven experience as an HR Specialist or similar role, preferably in the retail industry.
- Strong understanding of employment laws and regulations.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion.
