Overview :
We are seeking a talented Senior Game Designer / Mathematician to develop and apply advanced mathematical models to our products. The ideal candidate will be proficient in mathematical modeling, and possess a strong understanding of the underlying principles that drive these models.
Responsibilities :
Develop Mathematical Models
Create theoretical solution to fully understand the statistical characteristics of the game.
Build simulations to check work and ensure accuracy.
Create XML configuration for the game service to implement functionality of the game.
Complete all documentation with accuracy.
Provide support for mathematical queries.
Respond quickly and professionally to queries relating to game mathematics.
Perform investigations into game performance.
Use domain understanding to find solutions and identify risks.
Communication with relevant stakeholders on support queries.
Game Design
Monitor industry trends.
Perform analysis into game performance to identify best design practices.
Implementing new best practice and innovation.
Develop an understanding of player psychology to improve game design.
Generate new feature ideas to improve player experience.
Iterate design to ensure that the intended player experience is achieved.
Research and Develop New Tools and Processes
Build generic solutions to improve efficiency and accuracy of future game mathematics solutions i.e. identify where there is value to develop a generic solution, and evolve into a standardised tool set to use in many different ways.
Improve on the existing set of tools within the mathematics society to automate and streamline processes.
Educate and share knowledge society members on new and improved tools and processes.
Provide Strategic Direction for Development
Collaborate with others to expose value-adding development opportunities, and communicate and influence strategies effectively to achieve buy-in from relevant stakeholders
Make decisions that properly prioritize long-term and short-term projects in order to constantly improve the teams efficiency and product success.
Identify areas of development that will provide the most value for the team as a whole.
Qualifications :
Degree in Mathematics or similar.
Expert mathematical and problem solving skills.
Expert experience with mathematical and statistical modelling.
