What are the responsibilities and job description for the Community Event Manager position at Games King?
Job summary
The Community Event Manager will oversee and contribute to the overall planning and success of events and managing player communities. They will plan, sanction, market, promote and answer customer questions for all in-store play. They are responsible for managing and training our team to help drive interest in events and promotions. They are also responsible for planning and setting up the play space to host their events.
What will your role involve
- Plan, develop, and write compelling, engaging content for the web, social media, advertising, and other marketing materials.
- Updates website pages with news articles, image content, product information, appropriate links, contest rules, and other relevant consumer information.
- Oversee and manage the complete calendar for website and social media content for all events. Manage community engagement on the front line of communications on all our social platforms (Facebook, IG, Discord, YouTube, TikTok, etc)
- Maintains a collaborative working relationship with staff, including ongoing meetings and communication, sharing plans, asset gathering, and other activities that promote successful marketing of events.
- Develop compelling content for press releases, media kits, and other external communications materials to convey our brand messaging effectively.
- Serve as a spokesperson for Games King, articulating our brand values and initiatives in interviews, conferences, and public appearances as needed.
- Collects and creates analytics from across all platforms for one-on-one meetings with Store Manager. Use it to build a future-looking strategy and in-the-moment adjustments to tactics.
- Ultimately responsible for timely delivery of content per the schedule, including approvals from other brands and Store Manager. Ensures all content is on strategy, on schedule, and up to a high-quality bar.
- Creates and documents procedures and marketing materials.
- Lead the conceptualization and implementation of innovative PR campaigns to enhance brand visibility and reputation.
- Travels to multiple shows and conventions per year, assisting with the successful production of the event, fan engagement, and serving as an ambassador for the store
- Provide leadership/motivation and convey the vision and strategies of the staff.
- Attend and participate in regular team meetings, scheduling meetings, and other industry meetings.
- Research and fully understand new products and product lines to develop deep marketing content for them.
- Monitor industry trends and competitor activities to inform PR strategies and maintain a competitive edge.
- All other tasks as directed by management.
What do you bring
- Must have exceptional skills planning, developing, and executing marketing materials with emphasis on creative website and social media writing.
- Some knowledge of backend website navigation.
- Must have intimate knowledge of organic content posting and advertising on social media platforms: Instagram, Facebook, Bluesky, TikTok, and X.
- Knowledge of Google advertising and analytics.
- Ability to juggle multiple projects simultaneously with strong attention to detail.
- Must enjoy a fast-paced environment with tight deadlines and frequent high-peak times.
- Strategic thinker who can see the big picture.
- Excellent collaboration and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to prioritize projects as well as delegate, assign, and manage tasks to team members.

- Some travel may be required.
Education/Experience
At least one (1) year of team management experience preferred.
Experience in the hobby game market preferred; not required.
