GameStop's Audit Group is an independent global function responsible for providing assurance and advisory services covering all the Company's business and operations. Audit is a critical component of GameStop's control and risk management infrastructure. Successful professionals in this group will demonstrate a strong understanding of our business, build strong working relationships with business partners and deliver value added services which strengthen the efficiency and effectiveness of our global processes.
The Internal Audit Staff will plan and execute independent audit testing in support of the annual operational audit plan, including execution of planning, fieldwork, and reporting activities. The role will also support the execution of SOX assurance activities, with additional support to the SOX program through the 302 certification and SOX scoping processes.
This position sits onsite 5 days a week in Grapevine, TX.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain strong and effective relationships with key stakeholders from other internal functions.
- Represent the Internal Audit function globally to key stakeholders through strong cross-functional partnership.
- Perform audit testing components of assigned audits for all phases of audit execution.
- Plan and execute independent audit test steps with clear and concise documentation for operational audits and SOX test work.
- Analyze the risks and the design of controls around key business processes and systems through the execution of operational audits and SOX test work.
- Prepare and report on audit and SOX findings, presenting exceptions to business stakeholders and assisting with recommendations for remediation actions.
- Perform data analytics in support of internal audits, SOX testing execution, investigations, continuous monitoring or upon additional request.
- Responsible for the timely delivery of assigned audits and SOX controls
- Support 302 certification and SOX scoping initiatives in preparation of SOX assurance cycles
- Work collaboratively and cross-functionally with other internal functions towards the improvement and maintenance of the GameStop control environment
- Build and maintain collaborative relationships with all risk and control functions
Requirements:
- Undergraduate or graduate degree in accounting, business administration, information systems, or related area.
- Related certification or working towards a related certification (Certified Internal Auditor (CIA) or Certified Public Accountant (CPA))
- Experience working in either public accounting or as a corporate internal auditor is preferred but not required
- Strong quantitative analysis skills, including the ability to interpret, analyze, organize, and report financial and operational data.
- Strong project planning skills, including the ability to organize, prioritize and control job responsibilities in order to meet deadlines in an environment with overlapping and potentially conflicting priorities
- Strong ability to gather and scrutinize data to identify issues, opportunities, patterns, and sustainable business solutions
- Proficient ability to communicate, written and oral, throughout the organization
- Proficient ability to work collaboratively with others
- Proficient knowledge of Windows-based business computers and Microsoft Office programs; specifically, Access, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint and Word
