Job Opportunity: Environmental Associate Attorney

Salary Range: $310,000 to $390,000
A prestigious law firm is seeking an Attorney to join its highly ranked, nationally recognized Environmental Law practice group as a full-time, partnership-track associate in its Washington, DC office.
Position Requirements: Qualified candidates should have between four to six years of experience (class of 2020 – class of 2018) handling environmental and natural resource matters. This experience should include compliance counseling, obtaining permits and regulatory authorizations for project development, agency rulemaking, enforcement defense, or litigation.
The ideal candidate should have a strong interest and experience in the Clean Water Act, the National Environmental Policy Act, the Endangered Species Act, and related legal frameworks, particularly in the context of energy generation, oil and gas, and other infrastructure projects. Familiarity with the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC) is strongly preferred but not required.
Key Qualifications:
· Strong academic credentials and excellent analytical, communication, and writing skills.
· Self-motivated with intellectual curiosity, sound judgment, and responsiveness.
· Ability to work collaboratively within a team-oriented environment that values mentorship and direct client engagement.
· Active membership in the DC bar is preferred and, if not already admitted, required within one year of joining.
