Position Summary
The Associate Dentist will be responsible for diagnosing, treating, and managing patients' oral health needs. This includes routine preventive care, restorative treatments, extractions, and cosmetic procedures. The ideal candidate should have strong clinical skills, a patient-centered approach, and a commitment to excellence.
Key Responsibilities
Patient Management
- Examine, diagnose, and treat patients of all ages with a focus on delivering high-quality care.
- Interpret x-rays and perform necessary treatments, including:
- Removing tooth decay and filling cavities.
- Placing restorations and repairing fractured teeth.
- Performing extractions and other surgical procedures.
- Present comprehensive treatment plans to patients, ensuring they understand their options and feel comfortable with their care.
- Educate patients on oral health, hygiene, and treatment procedures.
Practice Management
- Maintain and update accurate patient records in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
- Manage and direct staff assignments and activities in accordance with office policies and state regulations.
- Work closely with dental assistants, hygienists, and front office staff to ensure a seamless patient experience.
Practice Promotion & Community Engagement
- Support and uphold the practice's mission, long-term business strategies, and patient care goals.
- Promote patient retention and referrals by building strong relationships and delivering exceptional service.
- Maintain positive relationships with other dental professionals and specialists in the community.
Supervisory Responsibilities
- Staff Management
- Assist in recruiting, interviewing, selecting, and training staff members as needed.
- Help resolve personnel issues within the office in collaboration with the management team.
- Actively participate in team meetings to ensure alignment with practice goals.
Education & Training
- Stay up to date on the latest dental technologies and treatment advancements.
- Share insights from conferences, seminars, and training to support ongoing team development.
- Research and recommend dental software or technologies to enhance practice efficiency.
Qualifications & Skills
- Education & Licensing
- DDS or DMD degree from an accredited dental school.
- Active Florida dental license in good standing.
- Must meet all state requirements and not be excluded from participation in federal health care programs.
- Training or experience in [insert area of special interest, if applicable] is a plus.
- Experience & Interpersonal Skills
- Strong diagnostic and clinical skills in general dentistry.
