ABOUT THE POSITION Gann Academy seeks candidates for a full-time, in-person position teaching Spanish for the 2025-2026 school year. Gann’s Spanish program currently serves approximately 25% of the student body, with involved students opting to pursue Spanish learning on top of their required Hebrew language study. We are looking for a committed and experienced Spanish teacher ready to lead students through a complete sequence of Spanish courses. This individual will be tasked with building on and updating our existing curriculum and documenting curricular revisions. Successful candidates will have a passion for the subject, a strong background in classroom teaching, curriculum design, and pedagogy, and a commitment to collaborating, reflecting, and growing in their teaching practice. Personal qualities such as creativity, curiosity, perseverance, and flexibility are desirable, as are effective communication skills with students and families.
Candidates should have significant experience teaching Spanish to high school students for whom English is a primary language, an ability to teach beginning levels through Advanced, a degree in Spanish Language or Literature, enthusiastic interest in working with high school students, and strong communication skills. Experience in teaching content-based curricula and grammar in context is preferred, and an excellent command of spoken and written English is required.
This is an in-person, full-time position starting in August 2025 and will report to the Director of Humanities. The salary range is between $55,000-$90,000 annually, commensurate with relevant work experience and qualifications.

- Native or near-native fluency in Spanish
- Strong organizational skills
- A commitment to student-centered, mastery-based teaching
- Must be proficient in English to carry out work as assigned

WORKING CONDITIONS/PHYSICAL DEMANDS
Physical demands include dexterity for office machine/supply operation, including but not limited to computers, telephones, electronic calculators, copy machines, and printers. Stooping, bending, reaching for files or supplies, and sitting or standing for extended periods are common.
