Garage Sale Vintage - Store Sales Manager

Schedule: Full time - Industry standard 45-55 hours per week

Travel: 0%-10%

Salary: $ plus monthly bonus

MAIN DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • The Store Sales Manager reports directly to the Operations Manager and/or the New York Area Manager. This position is responsible for driving store sales performance, optimizing staffing levels, and ensuring daily operations run smoothly while maintaining a strong focus on KPIs.
  • As the Store Sales Manager, your primary focus will be to ensure the team is aligned with the store​'s sales goals and performance metrics, enhancing customer satisfaction, and maximizing profitability. Yo​u'll be expected to lead by example, provide strong leadership, and make data-driven decisions that drive results.

SALES PERFORMANCE & KPIs

  • Monitor Store KPIs: Regularly track and analyze sales data, conversion rates, foot traffic, and customer spend. You​'ll be expected to meet and exceed daily, weekly, and monthly sales targets.
  • Conversion Rate Focus: Maintain a store conversion rate of 35-40% or higher. Monitor hourly door counts and share performance data with the team to optimize conversion.
  • Daily Sales ​M​eetings: Lead daily team huddles to communicate goals, set expectations, and inspire staff to hit sales targets.
  • Upselling & Promotions: Train staff to consistently upsell drinks, food, and merchandise at every customer touchpoint. Leverage slogans and incentives to enhance sales opportunities, including promoting Single or Double on every drink order.
  • Track Inventory and Margins: Oversee bar and retail inventory management, ensuring appropriate stock levels while maintaining profit margins. Review sales performance and adjust ordering practices to optimize inventory turns and reduce shrinkage.

BAR OPERATIONS

  • Maximize Bar Sales: Consistently monitor bar sales, set clear targets for bartenders, and ensure adherence to company guidelines for margins and service standards.
  • Customer Experience: Train bartenders to identify and engage with customers effectively, ensuring an enjoyable experience that encourages repeat business.
  • ​Inventory & Ordering: Oversee inventory tracking, ordering, and budget management for bar and food supplies. Ensure the bar is always stocked with popular items and that inventory counts align with sales data.
  • Staff Training & Development: Develop the team​'s product knowledge and selling skills, ensuring bartenders and staff can speak confidently about​ promotions, and the store​'s ​policies and procedures

RETAIL SALES & STORE MANAGEMENT

  • Drive Retail Sales: Motivate the team to engage customers with enthusiasm, focusing on educating staff about new products, store promotions, and special offers.
  • Merchandising & Store Presentation: Ensure the store is fully stocked and visually appealing at all times. Work with the Merchandising team to update displays and maintain organization that promotes easy shopping and maximizes sales.
  • Customer Service & Satisfaction: Maintain the highest standards of customer service and ensure every team member is trained to greet and assist customers proactively.
  • Optimize Labor Costs: Maintain labor to sales ratio at or below 1​0% by ensuring efficient scheduling and adjusting staff levels based on traffic and sales goals.

STAFF MANAGEMENT & DEVELOPMENT

  • Hire & Train High-Performing Staff: Recruit, onboard, and train a high-performance team focused on achieving sales goals. Develop team members product knowledge and selling techniques.
  • Performance Management: Regularly monitor individual performance, providing coaching and feedback to ensure staff meets sales goals and adheres to store procedures.
  • Schedule to Peak Times: Develop staffing schedules based on sales forecasts, holidays, promotions, and store needs to ensure maximum sales performance during peak hours​- Employee with food handlers has to be in the building at all hours.

REPORTING & ADMINISTRATIVE TASKS

  • Report Sales Performance: Provide daily, weekly, and monthly reports on store sales performance, conversion rates, and inventory. Regularly update the Director of Operations on progress against goals.
  • Track Financials: Manage budgets, inventory levels, and expenses to maximize profitability. Ensure financial records are accurate and up-to-date.
  • ​Compliance & Safety: Ensure adherence to all health, safety, and food handling regulations. Maintain a clean, organized, and safe environment for both staff and customers.

STORE MANAGER REQUIREMENTS

  • Proven experience in retail management with a focus on sales, KPIs, and team performance.
  • Strong leadership skills, with a demonstrated ability to motivate teams and drive sales growth.
  • Analytical mindset with the ability to track, measure, and optimize sales performance and KPIs.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a customer-first attitude.
  • ​Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, especially regarding inventory management and staff scheduling.
  • Knowledge of bar operations, food and beverage service, and sales-driving techniques.
  • Proficiency in Google ​d​ocs, Microsoft Office, ​Excel Spreadsheet and ​POS systems.
  • Must be available to work 40 hours per week, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
  • Knowledge of shrink & loss prevention.
  • Ability to track and report budgets and expenses.

  • Must have a working cell phone.
  • Ability to lift up to ​30 pounds.
  • Must live in or be able to reliably commute to the Chelsea location.
  • Must be eligible to work in the United States.
  • A strong commitment to delivering an exceptional customer experience while meeting sales objectives.
  • Confidence to lead and direct a team of associates.
  • Ability to manage time and stay organized.
  • Must be able to provide proof of ability to work in the United States.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $62,000.00 - $67,000.00 per year
