Our Delivery Driver/Raised Bed Installer is responsible for the delivery of bulk compost and installation of our raised garden beds to customers around southern Maine.
This position is full-time, Monday through Friday, 8:00am-4:30pm. We would also consider a part-time schedule for the right candidate. Seasonal March 15- July 1 with option to extend the season.
Responsibilities include:
- Pre-trip inspection of truck, loading soil and lumber
- Safe operation of 26k non-cdl dump truck
- Greeting customers at their home to determine where garden beds will be installed
- Unloading lumber and constructing standard-size garden beds
- Using an electric wheelbarrow to move soil and fill beds
- Prepping lumber for deliveries as necessary
Requirements:
- Valid Maine Drivers License
- Minimum 5 years of driving experience and ability to drive manual transmission truck
- A motor vehicle record (MVR) that has no violations, accidents, or convictions for at least the past three years
- Ability to lift 100 pounds safely, shovel heavy material for extended periods of time, execute semi-repetitive tasks over time.
- Fluency in English
- Familiarity with hand and power tools
- Basic carpentry skills (i.e. comfortable with a drill and circular saw, etc.)
- Reliable transportation to and from GTG site in Windham
- Availability Monday through Friday 8:00am - 4:30pm
