What are the responsibilities and job description for the Production Glassblower- Art Glass position at Garcia Art Glass Inc?
Garcia Art Glass is a glassblowing studio undergoing growth and expansion. We are seeking the right individuals to join our glass blowing family. We specialize in production of custom high end glass gifts, decorative objects, chandeliers, art installations, and more.
We are hiring an experienced and professional full time glass blower. This is a 40 hour a week position. The qualification include but are not limited to:
- EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS REQUIRED:
- 4 years of glass blowing experience.
- Working knowledge of hot shop equipment and help maintain equipment
- Ability to create excellent quality and wide variety of glass objects quickly to required standards.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a Team.
- Must be willing to take direction from production leadership Professional appearance and attitude for studio presentations.
- Ability to communicate effectively, verbally using the English or Spanish language.
- Reliable transportation
- Team player attitude.
- Ability to react quickly and correctly in a fast paced environment.
- Excitement for learning and teaching.
- High level of attention to detail and accuracy. Comfortable following company social distancing and PPE requirements (including wearing a mask for entire shift) with or without reasonable accommodations.
- Comfortable participating in wellness checks including Covid19 testing, and temperature checks during the pandemic.
- This position primarily works in a mobile hot shop which includes high levels of heat and working closely around flames and furnaces.
- This hot shop is outside and has some exposure to the elements of nature including cold, rain, heat, and wind.
- This position requires the ability to continually bend, stoop, stand, sit, physically blow air out of the mouth, and lift up to 50lbs repeatedly.
