Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Collections Manager to lead our team of 8 collection professionals. The ideal candidate will oversee the collections process, ensure timely and effective collection of outstanding debts, and maintain positive relationships with clients. Our company provides services to commercial clients, and all accounts are business-to-business (B2B).
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage a team of 8 collection professionals, providing guidance, training, and support.
- Develop and implement strategies to improve the collections process and reduce outstanding debts.
- Monitor team performance and provide regular feedback to ensure high levels of productivity and efficiency.
- Handle complex collection cases and negotiate payment plans with clients.
- Work with third-party collection agencies.
- Maintain accurate records of all collection activities and prepare regular reports for senior management.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant laws and regulations related to debt collection.
- Knowledge of bankruptcy laws, including filing proper documentation.
- Collaborate with other departments to resolve billing and payment issues.
- Knowledge of supplier financing programs and analysis.
- Monitor and collect on assigned accounts.
- Other duties and projects as assigned.
Required Qualifications:
- Proven experience as a Collections Manager or in a similar role.
- Previous experience in business-to-business (B2B) collections.
- Strong leadership and team management skills.
- Excellent communication and negotiation abilities.
- In-depth knowledge of collections laws and regulations.
- Proficiency in using collections software and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Certification as a CCE or CBF from the National Association of Credit Management.
