Description
Individuals in this position must possess superb organizational skills and be able to task switch through completion of various tasks. They are responsible for greeting and assisting all customers and visitors during the day with a variety of tasks in person and by phone. This individual will contribute to the overall achievement of our company’s goals and objectives and plays a large part in ensuring positive customer experiences. This position will work congruently in the Grain and Agronomy divisions reporting primarily to the Agronomy Accounting Supervisor and secondarily to the Head Grain Accountant (HGA) along with the CFO (Chief Financial Officer) overseeing assigned accounting duties.
ACCOUNTING DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Price, purchase, and contract cash and new crop grain under the supervision of the HGA
- Accurately split grain settlements and provide accurate grain settlements and copies at patron’s request.
- Compile and file records neatly and accordingly.
- Process accounts payable and expense reports.
- Prorate and/or edit to scale orders in AgWorks.
- Create delivery tickets and returns.
- Batch and invoice all shipment invoicing in GP.
- Efficiently edit and process invoices and credit/rebill corrections for crop production, providing accuracy to insure proper inventory control.
- Track bookings/contracts and monthly expired contracts.
- Process prepays as they are received.
- Process BOL’s and direct ships as they are received.
- File scale tickets, NOA’s, BOL’s, transfers and spray jobs.
- Process aerial and ground application invoices.
- Create delivery tickets and returns.
- Process agronomy BOLs and direct ships as they are received.
- Process agronomy invoices and returns.
- All other duties assigned.
Qualifications
GENERAL OFFICE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Receive customers and visitors by greeting, welcoming, and directing them appropriately.
- Answering and forwarding incoming phone calls.
- Prepare and deliver outgoing mail and packages.
- Retrieval and distribution of incoming mail and packages.
- Noticing the need for and purchasing of essential supplies which include but are not limited to water, coffee, paper products, soap, and cleaning supplies.
- Maintain a neat and clean personal workspace, as well as all common work areas and customer areas.
SKILL AND KNOWLEDGE REQUIREMENTS
- Must have the ability to effectively prioritize, task-switch, manage time, organize, and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment. Strong written and oral communication skills required.
- Must be detailed oriented and have strong interpersonal and customer service skills.
- Being a team player is requirement. Must be able to work well with others to achieve a common goal.
- Patience and adaptability.
- Superior numeric skills.
- Knowledge of office procedure and etiquette.
- Must possess the skill to learn, understand and apply new technologies.
- Knowledge of industry is beneficial.
- Use of internet, email, and willingness to learn required accounting systems software.
- Use of 10-key calculator.
