Our property boasts Red Salt Room, King Bar, The Rose Room Underground Lounge and The Patio Bar, all inspired by Chef David Burke. Located in the heart of Garden City, the Hotel is a stone’s throw away from Manhattan, only 15 miles by car or 45 minutes by Long Island Railroad.
We pride ourselves on our meticulous attention to detail and relentless drive towards success. We are looking for a Hospitality Professional to help us reinforce the standards that historically make us one of the best in the business.
We are currently recruiting for an experienced Hotel Director of Security.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Supervise Security Officers and Supervisors, including scheduling according to hotel business levels, and daily work assignments
- Manage daily administrative responsibilities of the Security Department
- Maintain complete knowledge of hotel activities, including:
1) Layout of building and surrounding grounds
2) Fire and emergency plans
3) Outlets and hours of operation
4) All hotel services and facilities
5) House count and scheduled groups
6) Scheduled activities and functions within the hotel
7) Hotel rules of conduct
- Manage fire alarms and all emergencies on hotel property. Point of contact during emergencies with all local municipalities.
- Work with Nassau County Fire Marshall for annual inspection, generator tests, and equipment maintenance to meet codes
- Fire Safety and Emergency Procedures training at new hire orientation classes, as well as on-going training throughout all departments.
- Supervise Incident Reporting process, ensuring all guest and employee incident reports are completed accurately. Report incidents to appropriate Department Managers and General Manager.
- Point of contact for all guest related incidents and accidents.
- Chair the hotel’s Safety Committee.
- Maintenance and supervision of hotel fire panel system, security cameras, Saflok system, and hotel radios.
- Maintain Lost & Found process for all valuable items.
- Maintain positive guest and employee relations at all times.
- Maintain working relationship with all departments to enforce security and safety standards and procedures.
Requirements:
- Hotel Security management experience
- NYS Security License
- Valid NYS Drivers License; able to drive hotel vehicles when needed
- Excellent interpersonal communication skills, written and verbal
- Computer literate – MSOffice, Opera, Saflok
- Must be able to stand or sit for extended periods of time
- Must be able to move or lift large/heavy objects, some in excess of 100 lbs.
- CPR/First Aid/AED Certification a plus
