What are the responsibilities and job description for the Banquet Bartender - Seasonal position at Garden of the Gods Resort and Club?
Position Purpose & Summary
The Bartender will serve and make drinks at the bar for the servers to provide to members and guests.
Essential Functions :
- Compose and be knowledgeable of standard drinks and liquors or wines specific to restaurant bar.
- Mix drinks for servers according to standard recipes.
- Familiarity with the wine list and the stemware and appropriate garnishes used.
- Follow procedures as outlined in employee manual and bartender's manual. Jiggers pour, making drinks for servers only when rung in on the POS systems.
- Keep bar stocked and clean. Follow side work sheet.
- Plan, monitor and maintain par levels for bar inventory as deemed necessary by the Director of Restaurants or the Restaurant Manager. Prepare daily orders for bar items to maintain pars.
- Be knowledgeable of the menu for guests ordering at the bar.
- Ensure the consistency in the presentation and recipes of all cocktails.
- Responsible for learning suggestive up-selling techniques and using them during services.
- Be familiar with and enforce all policies related to liquor liability laws.
- Responsible for cash handling and bank procedures as outlined by the Accounting Department.
- Be familiar with all property amenities and other restaurants.
- Maintain cleanliness of all workplace areas that apply to the bar.
- Maintain a perfectly crisp and clean uniform.
- Completes any other duties as assigned.
- Deliver "I Am Proud" service standards and department-specific signature touch points.
- Establish cross-departmental channels of communication among teammates that are consistent and complete.

Formal Education and Job-Related Experience : This position requires a minimum formal education of a high school diploma and a minimum of one-year job-related experience.
License, Registration, and / or Certification Required : State of Colorado (or equivalent) Safe-Serve Certification / TIPS Bar Certificate
External and Internal Personal Contact :
Teamwork and Collaboration : This position requires continuous teamwork as well as internal and cross-departmental communication.
