Job Description 

Garden Remedies, Inc. is seeking an Accountant to join our team. This person should be a driven, dedicated, and enthusiastic professional, and will be responsible for financial accounting, financial reporting, and daily cash management.  The successful candidate will have at least five years of accounting experience and use their expertise to perform account analyses, balance sheet reconciliations, review financial statements, documents, and other reports to ensure they are accurate.  They will also support the annual external audits, review financial operations and controls, recommend improvements, and develop and enhance process documentation.  This role is a hybrid work schedule.

Immediate responsibilities for the role of the Accountant include: 

Responsibilities: 

Accounting

• Support of monthly, quarterly, and yearly financial close.
• Ensure monthly income statements and balance sheets are accurate and prepared in accordance to the internal department schedule.
• Assist with account reconciliations as needed.
• Analyze and report on financial status including income statement variances, communicating financial results to management, budget preparation and analysis.

Accounts Payable 

• Code vendor invoices, set up new accounts as needed,
• Lead weekly payment process, including identifying invoices due to be paid, ensuring approvals are in place.
• Process employee expense reimbursement requests.
• Process debit card transactions.
• Audit Support
• Support annual external audit by gathering necessary information as requested.
  
  Cash Management
• Verify bank deposits match internal records.
• Process cash transactions within QuickBooks
• Perform other ad-hoc accounting, financial, or administrative tasks as needed by the request of the Accounting Manager and Finance Director
  
  
  Qualifications and Skills: 
• Knowledge of general financial accounting and cost accounting.
• Understanding of and ability to adhere to generally accepted accounting principles.
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Deadline oriented.
• Positive attitude and demonstrated ability to respond to changing circumstances and priorities.
  
  Must-have:
• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related.
• 5 years of professional experience in accounting.
• Familiarity with GAAP.
• Proficiency with QuickBooks.
• Exceptional analytical skills with a proven track record of identifying and resolving financial discrepancies.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  
  Nice-to-have:
• Expertise in financial modeling and advanced Excel functions.
• Industry-specific expertise.
• Manufacturing company experience
   
  Supervision: 
• Works under the general supervision of the Accounting Manager
• This position is not responsible for supervising other employees
   
  Requirements:
• Must be 21 years of age or older
• Ability to pass all required background checks to work with cannabis
  
  Compensation
• Salary: $65,000 – $80,000 per year, with potential for performance-based bonuses.

Salary : $65,000 - $80,000
