Warehouse Operator/Material Handler
Job Description
The Warehouse Operator/Material Handler at Garden Remedies is primarily responsible for physically receiving deliveries of raw goods, accurately entering them into our inventory system, and distributing goods to the correct departments. This role also involves performing cycle counts twice a week, maintaining warehouse organization, and preparing returns for shipment to vendors as needed. On occasion, the Material Handler may assist with cannabis picking/packing. This position is part of the Operations group and reports directly to the Warehouse Manager.
Responsibilities
- Receiving & Distribution

- Physically accept deliveries of raw goods.
- Verify and receive raw goods into the ERP/MRP system (Dutchie preferred).
- Distribute goods to the appropriate departments.
- Receive accessories and distribute them to the retail store.
- Prepare and ship out returns to vendors as needed.
- Inventory Management

- Perform cycle counts twice per week to ensure accurate inventory.
- Accurately transfer products to correct locations within the ERP/MRP system.
- Move WIP (Work In Progress) and finished goods to correct physical locations.
- Resupply point-of-use inventory from the warehouse.
- Report any inventory discrepancies to the Warehouse Manager (and/or Production Supervisor as needed).
- Warehouse Operations

- Maintain warehouse organization and 6S standards in all inventory locations.
- Complete builds in the ERP/MRP system accurately.
- Keep a clean and safe working environment.
- Cross-Functional Support

- Assist with cannabis picking/packing as needed.
- Follow and execute compliant practices in accordance with state regulations and GRI’s Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
- Maintain extensive knowledge of GRI’s products.
- Complete other duties as assigned in a timely and appropriate manner.
Qualifications
- Experience
-
- 1–2 years of shipping, receiving, and material handling (willing to train the right candidate).
- 1–2 years of inventory management (willing to train the right candidate).
- 1–2 years of ERP/MRP system experience (Dutchie preferred) (willing to train the right candidate).
- Experience working in a manufacturing or warehouse environment.
- Skills & Knowledge

- Knowledge of Lean/Six Sigma principles or willingness to learn.
- Excellent communication skills (verbal and written).
- Extremely high attention to detail with the ability to detect quality defects.
- Strong computer skills including Microsoft Suite.
- Physical Requirements & Work Ethic

- Ability to lift up to 40 pounds consistently, bend, stoop, and twist with or without reasonable accommodation.
- Comfortable in a fast-paced, physically demanding role.
- Maintains a positive attitude in a busy department.

- Cannabis and assembly experience preferred.
- Must be at least 21 years of age.
- Ability to pass all required background checks to work with cannabis in Massachusetts.
Supervision
- Reports to: Warehouse Manager.
- This position does not supervise other employees.
