Cashier

Job Summary
We are seeking a friendly and efficient Cashier to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for providing excellent customer service while accurately processing transactions. As a Cashier, you will play a vital role in creating a positive shopping experience for our customers in a garden center environment. Your ability to handle cash, operate the cash register, and maintain a clean and organized checkout area will contribute to the overall success of our store.

Responsibilities

• Operate the cash register and process customer transactions efficiently and accurately.
• Handle cash, credit, and debit card payments while ensuring proper cash handling procedures.
• Provide exceptional customer service by greeting customers, answering questions, and assisting with product demos.
• Maintain knowledge of store products and promotions to effectively assist customers.
• Stock shelves and ensure the checkout area is clean, organized, and well-stocked.
• Assist with retail sales by promoting special offers and providing product information.
• Demonstrate strong phone etiquette when answering customer inquiries over the phone.
• Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth operations during busy periods.

Experience

• Previous experience as a Cashier or in retail sales is preferred but not required.
• Familiarity with cash registers and POS systems is advantageous.
• Basic understanding of retail math to assist with transactions and inventory management.
• Strong communication skills and a friendly demeanor are essential for success in this role.

Pay: From $17.50 per hour

Expected hours: 30 – 40 per week
