What are the responsibilities and job description for the Garden Center Associate position at Garden's Dream Farm?
Garden's Dream Farm is a locally owned and operated farm and garden center that offers annuals, perennials, trees and shrubs to homeowners and landscapers.
We are looking for energetic, enthusiastic and hard working sales team members for our Annual, Perennial, Shrub and Tree departments.
Sales experience and a working knowledge of ornamental horticulture, knowledge of best planting practices, and the ability to advise customers with plant selection is a plus. We will train the right candidates!
Daily duties may include, but are not limited to:
- Customer service and sales.
- Watering and general plant maintenance.
- Advising customers on plant selection.
- Customer engagement on plant care.
- Knowledge of proper planting and plant maintenance procedures.
- Stocking and moving plant materials.
The Ideal Candidate:
- Must be able to lift 50lbs occasionally. Up to 10 lbs repeatedly. This position is physically demanding. Expect lifting, reaching, bending over, and being on your feet all day.
- Is comfortable working outdoors in all weather conditions, and should wear proper shoes and attire for various outdoor conditions.
- Is motivated and self directed.
- Can take direction and feedback well.
- Performs tasks thoroughly and efficiently.
- Brings a positive attitude each day.
- Works well in a group setting or on their own.
- Must have reliable transportation and a valid drivers license.
- Must be available to work holidays and weekends
