Job Summary:
We are looking for an enthusiastic, positive and customer-focused Sales Associate to join our team at Garden Specialties a small specialty garden and gift store. The ideal candidate is passionate about garden decor/gifts, customer service where they enjoy assisting customers. This role involves customer service, processing sales, maintaining store displays, and providing basic assists to find the perfect gift or garden decor.
Responsibilities:
- Greet and assist customers in a friendly and knowledgeable manner.
- Provide expert advice on garden decor and gift merchandise. Effectively responding to questions
- Process sales transactions using the store’s point-of-sale (POS) system.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and visually appealing store environment.
- Restock merchandise and assist with inventory management.
- Assist with receiving shipments and unpacking new stock.
- Promote store events, promotions and loyalty programs to customers.
- Support in-store events or workshops as needed.
- Follow all store policies and safety procedures.
Qualifications:
- Prior retail or customer service experience preferred.
- Knowledge of garden decor and gift shops a plus.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to lift up to 40 lbs and stand for extended periods.
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment and navigating stairs.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays.
- Friendly, outgoing and collaborative with customers and colleagues.
