Position Description
Garden Springs is currently searching for a Mental Health Counselor on a part-time to full-time basis at our Partial Care (PCP), Intensive Outpatient (IOP), and Outpatient Mental Health services. This position, with support by the Clinical Supervisor, is responsible in providing evidence-based practices, holistic modalities, personal advocacy and development, and service planning utilizing varying therapeutic modalities through individual, group, and family sessions to our clients; taking a whole person approach in healing the physical, mental, spiritual, and emotional aspects of each client.
Candidates should have a basic understand of and be comfortable with utilizing a variety of techniques including Motivational Interviewing (MI), Short-Term, Solution Focused Therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), and/or Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and should be comfortable facilitating group therapy.
Qualifications
- Minimum Requirement: Bachelor's degree in a human services field with two years experience in the Mental Health/Human Services field
- Master's Degree or higher preferred
- Certified Psychiatric Rehabilitation Practitioner, or Community Mental Health Associate, or LAC, LSW with minimum of 2 years Mental Health experience, or LPC, LCSW , LMFT, or Licensed Psychologist with a minimum of 2 years Mental Health experience preferred
- CPR/BLS Certification preferred, will train
- Pre-Vocational/Vocational Rehabilitation experience preferred
- Ability to self-direct, manage schedule, and adhere to professional standards of conduct
- Complete documentation in accordance with applicable healthcare standards in a professional and timely manner
- KIPU EMR experience helpful
Essential Functions:
- Complete Clinical Assessments via Comprehensive Biopsychosocial Assessments, Suicide/Risk Assessments, GAD, PHQ-9, and/or BECK Inventory, and other data gathering techniques to determine an appropriate Mental Health diagnosis based on the DSMV, develop an individualized plan of care, and assist the client in meeting their treatment goals
- Facilitates psychodynamic, open-process, and educational groups to meet the needs of individuals served
- (Optional) Maintains an individual caseload, providing individual and family therapy, as needed
- Promptly maintains accurate, thoroughly documented client records with a quality of documentation to meet all applicable federal, state, local, and accrediting standards
- (Optional) Attends and participates in treatment team meetings, group and individual supervision, and multidisciplinary meetings on a weekly basis to ensure quality of care for clients
- Must be comfortable working with group dynamics while managing the meeting or activity process.
- Must possess assertive attitude when it comes to talking to a group and changing their way of thinking and promoting a change of behavior.
- Must possess experience and passion working with clients struggling with Mental Health Disorders
- Must be able to communicate with clients and staff members through various forms of communication, including email, phone and text
Starting salary: $20.00hr for minimum requirements (BA), higher base rate on credentials/experience
Currently part-time openings, may expand to full-time in future
Schedule:
- Flexible Schedule: Available Hours are Monday-Thursday4pm-9pm, possible Saturdays in future. Prefer staff who can work multiple days, but will interview for per-diem/less than 20 hours week part-time
- Part-time/Contracted hours to start, as program builds will become full-time position
- On call/availability to provide crisis management/care coordination with team members
