About The Role
This is a seasonal, part-time position. The Lab Technician will work on weekends and select optional weekdays this summer season, from late May until early September. Lab technicians will report to the Microbiology Supervisor in our Jersey Shore Lab located in Waretown, NJ. The shift is generally from 10am to 6pm on weekends and from 9am to 5pm on weekdays, however the ending time can vary slightly depending on when the scheduled work has been completed.
What You'll Do
The primary responsibilities of the Summer Microbiology Technician may include:
No prior experience is required, but successful candidates should possess a high school degree or equivalent experience; have general computer skills; have previous work experience that required detailed tasks; and have some background (education or work) in the sciences. Prior laboratory experience is a plus.
Compensation will be $16.00 per hour.

- Preparing media
- Receiving samples and recording temperatures
- Logging sample data into the Company’s system
- Calibrating pH meters and balances
- Analyzing samples and recording results
- Performing routine laboratory maintenance tasks
