Responsibilities and Duties
Coordinates the scheduling and executes the timely and efficient transportation of Residents to and from local appointments and outings in company minivans and transport buses. Physically escorts residents, as needed, to their destination, which may include pushing wheelchairs and assisting residents who have mobility issues. Loads and unloads mobility assistance equipment (i.e. walkers, wheelchairs) and assists residents in proper usage of equipment. Communicates concerns and problems in detailed and prompt manner to supervisor and in appropriate logbook. Keeps all conversation professional. Assist with Activities and coordinate events.
Maintains organized and detailed reporting of information with confidentiality and professional demeanor at all times. Demonstrates the ability to function as a team member and in partnering responsibilities. Promotes and facilitates interactive problem solving with staff, residents, and visitors.
Direct, and participate in the wash and detailing of the van/bus in conjunction with Maintenance Manager or other designated staff, once a week. Maintain a service log on the van and perform safety checks weekly.
Demonstrate an appreciation of the heritage, values and wisdom of the residents and an understanding of the aging process.
Qualifications and Skills
1. Must maintain an excellent driving record with valid LA chauffeur's license.
2. Must possess a high degree of interpersonal relations skills and capability of relating to a variety of people and personalities. Considerable initiative, judgment and leadership skills are also required.
4.. Must be willing to work flexible hours.
5. Must be willing to undergo background driving checks annually as well as personal background checks.
6. Must possess strong organizational and time-management skills.
7. Must have high school diploma, and essential work-related skills and must be able to meet Standards of Performance as outlined in the Employee Handbook.
