We are seeking a dedicated and experienced assistant Front of House Manager and Event Planner to help the daily operations and events of our restaurant. The ideal candidate will possess good leadership skills and a passion for delivering exceptional customer service in an upscale dining environment. This role requires a hands-on approach to assist managing staff, planning and handling the events inquiries, ensuring smooth operations, maintaining high standards of service.
Responsibilities
1, Staff Management
- Supervising Employees: assisting managing FOH and ensuring FOH staff to meet service standards.
2. Event Coordination
- Event Planning: Coordinate with guests and management for private events, parties, or special functions, ensuring all details are covered.
- Set-Up and Execution: Help ensure that events are set up and executed smoothly, managing staff and addressing any last-minute issues.
3. Customer Service
- Guest Relations: Ensure a high level of customer satisfaction by addressing concerns, handling complaints, and ensuring that guests have a positive dining experience.
- Greeting Guests: Assist with greeting and seating guests, especially during busy periods.
- Monitoring Service: Walk through the dining area to ensure that service is running smoothly, checking on guests, and ensuring quality service.
4. Operational Management
- Inventory Management: Assist inventory levels for FOH items (e.g., menus, napkins, glasses, etc.) and assist with ordering supplies as needed.
- Order Accuracy: Ensure that orders are processed accurately and quickly, liaising between kitchen and front-of-house staff.
- Health and Safety Compliance: Enforce cleanliness and safety protocols, ensuring all health codes and regulations are met.
5. Maintenance and Cleanliness
- Facility Maintenance: Ensure the restaurant is clean, organized, and in good repair, including managing any issues related to the dining room, restrooms, and exterior.
- Equipment Oversight: Report and follow up on any equipment malfunctions to ensure minimal disruption to service.
6. Assisting the Manager
- Support the Restaurant Manager: Assist the Restaurant Manager with day-to-day operations and assume managerial duties in their absence.
- Problem-Solving: Help resolve operational challenges, customer complaints, and staffing issues promptly.
7. Marketing and Promotion
- Promoting Specials: Help promote daily specials, new menu items, or events to customers.
- Social Media Engagement: Assist with the restaurant's social media presence, engaging with customers online.
8. Reporting
- Report on Restaurant Operations: Assist in preparing reports on sales, customer feedback, inventory, and staffing for the Restaurant Manager or owners.
- Training and Development: Help onboard and train new staff members, including servers, hosts, and bartenders, on customer service, safety protocols, and restaurant policies.
- Scheduling: Assist with creating staff schedules to ensure adequate coverage during peak hours while managing labor costs.
- Conflict Resolution: Address employee issues or customer complaints and mediate conflicts to ensure a positive work environment.
Qualifications
1. Education
- A degree in Hospitality Management, Business, or a related field can be a plus
2. Experience
- Experience in the Hospitality Industry: 1-3 years of experience working in customer-facing roles in restaurants
