Description
This Staff Accountant position is a key position having a significant role in the month-end close process, including but not limited to: journal entries, ad hoc and other analysis. This individual must be able to adapt quickly and work closely and cohesively with the accounting team.
Requirements
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
· Prepare journal entries for assigned areas during month end close along with maintaining the general ledger and subsidiary ledger accounts, including preparing opening, adjusting and closing journal entries using Microsoft Dynamics 365
· Responsible for maintaining organization’s sales tax compliance
· Maintain and reconcile fixed assets for the organization
· Must be able to meet all month-end closing and account reconciliation deadlines
· Perform account reconciliations for assigned areas with analysis
· Assist outside audit staff with year-end audit; prepare lead schedules and account analysis
· Support and provide timely and accurate communication to business and brand managers.
· Assist the Senior Accounting Manager, working on special projects as management requests
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
· Bachelor’s degree
· 1-3 years’ experience in accounting with distribution or manufacturing background preferred
· Experience with Microsoft Dynamics 365 a plus
· Experience with filing / maintaining sales tax compliance preferred
· Proficient in Microsoft Office products including Excel, Access, PowerPoint and Word
· Excellent analytical skills a must
· Excellent written, presentation, and verbal communication skills a must
· Must be self-motivated and detail oriented
· Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to build relations across the organization
· Team player and team builder with strength in recognizing, analyzing, and solving challenges
