What are the responsibilities and job description for the Activities Assistant (Memory care) position at Gardens at Northridge?
We're looking for a Part-time Activities assistant to help coordinate and carry out activities in our Memory Care!
Essential Functions:
- Support the mission, vision, and culture of the organization.
- Perform activities on schedule while maintaining regular attendance and punctuality.
- Promote resident’s attendance at events and activities.
- Assist with planning and implementing events and activities.
- Assist with group activities, sing-a-longs, and exercise classes.
- Conduct activity programs as assigned.
- Assist residents with gardening projects.
- Assist with decorations for holidays and special occasions.
Skills:
- Must speak English
- Must be outgoing and not shy to interact with residents and families
- Experience in activities with seniors who have dementia or in a senior retirement community.
- Great organization, planning, and engaging/re-directing seniors.
- Great energy and kindness.
- Operate a VCR, DVD, and stereo system.
- High School diploma or equivalent certificate.
- Must possess valid First Aid Certification.
Work Schedule:
- Weekend availability is a must
