Job Description
The Kennel Assistant will be responsible for providing daily care and maintenance of the hospital's facilities and equipment, as well as assisting veterinarians and technicians with medical procedures and exams.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain a clean and safe environment for animals
- Provide compassionate care to boarding pets and hospitalized patients
- Administer medications and vaccinations as directed
- Monitor animal behavior and report any unusual activity to veterinarians and technicians
- Record and maintain accurate records of animal care and treatment
Requirements
- Confidence working with animals and a willingness to learn
- Knowledge of proper animal restraint techniques
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Strong communication and customer service skills
- Ability to lift 50 pounds or more, as needed
