Warehouse Lead
Reports To: Operations Manager, Assistant Operations Manager or Operations Supervisor
FLSA Status: Non-Exempt
Summary:
The Warehouse Lead will oversee one or more of the assigned warehouse functions of picking, packing
receiving, and/or shipping areas. The Lead will train, provide guidance and work direction to the
employees of the respective department.
Job Role/Responsibilities:
- Lead, guide and direct employees of the respective department
- Assist with employee issues
- Issue supplies and equipment as needed
- Answer customer inquiries, provide information and resolve issues concerning requisitions, stock on hand, back orders, shipment discrepancies, damage or storage
- Generate, maintain and submit variety of records and reports regarding warehouse operations
- Keep warehouse in a clean orderly, safe and secure condition in compliance with applicable laws, codes, rules and regulations
- Maintain inventory
- Make recommendations on procedures and improvements to enhance warehouse efficiency
- Maintain a high level of quality, keep accurate accounts of time and production, keep production on schedule
- Maintain a safe working environment
- Serve as an Operations Manager/Supervisor in their absence
- Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Must have at least 6 months leadership experience or has shown leadership potential
- 1 year experience working in a warehouse environment is preferred
- Must be able to interact with other team members and build solid working relationships
- Experience working with Word, Excel and Email is needed
- Must be able to read and perform basic math calculations easily
- Excellent communication skills
- Ability to operate a forklift, pallet jack, reach truck and/or order picker
- Must have strong general mechanical skills.
- Must be able to concentrate in a busy work environment
- Must be detail-oriented
