Gardner- Webb is seeking a Web Marketing Specialist. The Web Marketing Specialist is a member of the Web & Digital Communications team who supports the strategic initiatives of Gardner-Webb University through managing and extending the functionality of gardner-webb.edu using WordPress. This individual works with the Associate Vice President for Web & Digital Communications and the development agency on web-related initiatives, conducting project management and overseeing production and publication of content, including graphics, copy and design features such as navigation, forms and other core functions of web sites.
Key partners with the college will include other members of the marketing and communications teams, colleagues in the university-wide units.
Duties and Responsibilities
Essential duties and responsibilities include :
- Maintain security, framework, and plugin updates for gardner-webb.edu
- Own feature requests through inception, design feedback, implementation, and launch; look for ways to optimize performance.
- Researches, modifies and creates website and web page content
- Reviews content for accuracy and quality of information
- Provides input on how best to translate copy and graphics direction from other media to the website
- Enforce graphic and content standards to maintain the appearance and structure of the website per specified brand guidelines
- Maintains competitive analysis of other sites and advises on opportunities for further enhancement and development of web pages
- Troubleshoots potential marketing and web page problems
- Integrate third-party applications, marketing pixels, scripts, etc. as necessary
- Keep current on trends and evolution in web development, accessibility, and standards.
- Assists with optimizing landing pages and updating web code to improve website position.
- Demonstrate flexibility and adjust priorities to respond to pressing and changing needs of stakeholders; ensure projects are completed on schedule.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications :
Candidates must have a bachelor's degree from an accredited four-year college or university as well as three to five years related experience OR, Any equivalent combination of experience and / or education from which comparable knowledge, skills, and abilities have been achieved. Work in a non-profit or higher education setting is preferred but not required.
