Full pay range: $20.90 - $29.26
This is a seasonal full-time position for six months. No benefits, position will start mid-April.
SUPERVISION:
Non-supervisory.
GENERAL PURPOSE OF JOB:
Seasonal position that will not exceed six months. Locate, identify, and treat noxious weeds throughout Garfield County. Communicate with landowners and educate the public on noxious weed identification, plant ecology, land and natural resource management.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

Field & Site Noxious Weed Mitigation:
- Operates and maintains spray vehicles and equipment.
- Mixes, loads, and applies herbicides daily.
- Utilizes GPS devices to help identify, locate, and record instances of noxious weed infestations.
- Interprets and applies state and Federal guidelines concerning the safe use of pesticides, weed management methods, and personal safety.
- Completes daily herbicide application record.
- Monitors the progress of treated areas.
- Interacts with and disseminates information to the internal staff and the public in a professional, courteous and friendly manner.
- Observes safety precautions and wears appropriate safety equipment at all times.
- Uses and maintains County property in a safe and professional manner.
- Reviews all work products to ensure highest level of quality.
- Drives vehicle to perform one or more essential functions.
- Performs other duties of a similar or related level as necessary or assigned.
