To be successful in this role, you should possess a high school diploma or equivalent, one year of clerical or customer service experience, and proficiency in technology (Microsoft Suite, Apple products, and web browsers). Bilingual Spanish/English skills are a plus.
In this exciting opportunity, you will be responsible for supporting youth and teen services in our Carbondale Branch. Some key responsibilities include:
- • Collaborating with the Youth Services Coordinator to develop and implement programs, events, and outreach for children and teens
• Planning and leading storytime sessions in the absence of the Youth Services Coordinator
• Providing exceptional customer service to patrons through check-ins, renewals, issuing cards, and payments
• Offering Reader Advisory services and assisting with material location
• Contributing to the maintenance of materials and evaluating items for updates or removal
• Supporting patrons with public computers, printers, scanners, and other technology needs
• Designing and updating library displays, signage, and promotional materials
• Participating in library events such as summer reading programs, concerts, book clubs, and outreach activities
• Maintaining a safe and welcoming environment by adhering to opening/closing procedures and library policies
