What are the responsibilities and job description for the Bartender position at Garland Lodge & Golf Resort?
This is a seasonal position April - October
Duties and Requirements of the Job:
- Keep Property Clean.
- Participates in the Aggressive Hospitality Program as established by Garland, being attentive to the guests’ every need while they are with us.
- Maximize every potential for revenue generation.
- Know, perform, and adhere to all rules of service and local liquor laws, and to all rules and procedures of wine service, making no short cuts or exceptions.
- Know all menu specifications.
- Know wine list and specifics of each wine.
- Know liquor product list. Know all standard drink recipes.
- Follow established procedures for carrying liquors, wines, fruits, juices and general bar and service supplies from Store Room to bar and wine area.
- Remain alert, and be aware of what is going on in each area.
- Complete all set-up duties on time and according to procedure.
- Follow all established procedures for check presentation, cash handling, credit cards, and room charges.
- Other duties as assigned: Restaurant Shift Supervisor, Restaurant Manager
Personal Skills and Characteristics Required to Perform the Duties of the Job:
- Follow personal appearance and grooming standards.
- Conduct yourself in a professional manner to ensure customer satisfaction.
- Good public relations skills with strong emphasis on oral communications.
- Comply with company policy regarding scheduling, uniform, absenteeism and tardiness.
- Use of proper phone etiquette.
- Familiar with operating hours, types of operations and locations of all food and beverage outlets, and all other facilities at Garland.
Physical Requirements to Perform the Duties of the Job:
- Must be at least 21 years of age.
- Must be able to stand/walk for a minimum of 12 hours per shift.
- Must be able to lift/support and balance at least 25 lbs. over the shoulder while walking, repeatedly per day.
- Prior food and/or beverage experience.
Licensing, Education and/or Other Special Certification(s) Required:
1. High School or GED
- Minimum 2 years as an experience bartender
