Job Summary :
The Maintenance Supervisor is responsible for leading the maintenance team to ensure that all the machinery, equipment, and facilities in the manufacturing plant operate efficiently and safely. This role involves planning, coordinating, and overseeing maintenance tasks, troubleshooting equipment issues, and implementing preventive maintenance strategies. He / She plays a critical role in minimizing downtime, maintaining compliance with safety standards, and improving operational performance. Maintenance Supervisor drives improved equipment reliability by ensuring all installations / repairs are completed with quality workmanship and per best maintenance practices.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead, train, and supervise a team of maintenance technicians, ensuring high performance and adherence to company policies and maintain compliance with all safety standards.
- Assign and prioritize daily maintenance tasks based on production schedules and urgency.
- Conduct regular performance reviews and identify skill gaps for team development.
Essential Job Functions :
Acts as a safety leader and puts safety first in all responsibilities. Works in conjunction with the Environmental Health & Safety Team to establish and maintain all policies and programs to assure a safe working environment.Diagnose equipment malfunctions and oversee timely repairs to minimize downtime.Ensure effective troubleshooting techniques are utilized to address both mechanical and electrical issues.Acts and performs as an interface between maintenance and production.Works with internal and external resources to provide solutions and improvements to machines, equipment, and facility to meet plant goals, reduce costs, ensure safety compliance and improve overall equipment effectiveness.Follows project schedules for implementing equipment into the plant.Assign and priorities daily maintenance tasks based on production schedules and urgency.Providing guidance for scheduled and breakdown work orders and attending to machine breakdowns on an immediate basis until the problem is fixed. This position may require hands-on activities and flexibility to work outside regular hours.Maintaining an appropriate level of parts inventory and monitoring expenses and controlling the Maintenance budget.Hands on involvement with all PLC / Controls programming projects (troubleshooting, modifying, upgrading etc.).Initiate work orders and actions to correct unsafe conditions.Work to develop and maintain predictive, preventative, and corrective maintenance programs.Identify opportunities for improving equipment reliability and reducing operational costsOther duties as assigned.Ability to collaborate and maintain Garlock's commitment to a Food Safe environmentQualifications :
Minimum of 5 years related experience.Manufacturing experience required.Proven Leadership skills and the ability to motivate people to perform at high levels.To perform this job successfully, an individual must have excellent attendance, be able to work independently and be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. 5-7 years of Maintenance & Electrical repair, PLC fault diagnostics, and mechanical maintenance in a light manufacturing environment.A minimum of 3 years of previous supervisory / management experience.High School or GED required.Demonstrated experience with Reliability Centered Maintenance (Preventive and Predictive Maintenance) Programs.Experience and knowledge of roll stock cutting machines, printing presses.Experience leading preventative / predicative / precision maintenance programs.Proficient with Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPointPhysical Requirements :
Must be able to work shifts or flexible work schedules as needed.
