Overview
We are seeking a full-time Payroll Analyst 1 in our Olathe, KS location. In this role, you will be responsible for assisting and executing activities necessary to process, verify and reconcile payroll using Payroll software and time / attendance records in an accurate and timely manner, ensuring compliance with governmental regulations.
Essential Functions
- Performs basic payroll and time / attendance processing
- Provides basic information to associates regarding payroll questions
- Follows payroll tax procedures to ensure compliance with all governmental regulations
- Enters adjustments to quarter and year-end reporting to ensure accurate reporting
- Recognizes / completes jurisdictional setups, changes / deletions, and coordinating with Tax and Finance departments
- Provides feedback for future enhancements for payroll processing efficiencies
- Compiles information for agency tax audits
- Identifies / monitors proper payroll and tax procedures
- Assists with setting up and processing garnishments, child support orders, bankruptcies and levies for compliance
- Assists with biweekly journal entries into month end allocations for compliance
- Develops and provides requested reports using software reporting tools
- Applies a sense of urgency, commitment and focus on the right priorities
- Works collaboratively / professionally with other Garmin associates and performs as a solid contributor on cross functional teams to achieve goals

Administration of all employer provided benefit plans including calculation and reconciliation of benefit plan bills and set up of deductions using ADP PayForce softwareMaintains relationships with outside payroll / benefits vendors including coordinating with third party administrator / insurance carrier to resolve enrollment or billing discrepanciesPerforms troubleshooting for all benefits / 401k issuesAnalyzes and manages 401K loan discrepanciesProcesses 401k confirmations for brokeragePerforms 401k audits and discrimination testingAdministers payroll records and calculates paychecks for all types leave of absencesAssists to identify needs and process improvements through analysis of processing tools to provide feedback and offer recommendations for changes to these systems in regards to benefitsPerforms audits to ensure accuracy of time off accruals and balancesLearns and then manages Paid Time Off (PTO) reconciliation balancesProvides and / or compiles information required for audit purposesEnsures compliant reporting of benefitsBasic Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources, Business, Finance, Accounting, or another related discipline OR an equivalent combination of education and relevant experienceExcellent academics (cumulative GPA greater than or equal to 3.0 as a general rule)Must demonstrate proficient computer skills using Microsoft Word and ExcelMaintains working knowledge of organizational business units and competitive marketDemonstrates working knowledge of payroll concepts, data collection, and analysisDemonstrates basic understanding of HR, Finance, and Payroll related legislation, practices, processes, programs and technologyDemonstrates strong and effective verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skillsDemonstrated problem solving and conflict resolution experienceMust be detail / team oriented, demonstrate the ability to prioritize / multi-task effectively with minimal supervision, possess a positive attitude, and work well with othersMust possess previous experience and commitment to maintaining confidentiality regarding business and Human Resources mattersDemonstrates effective time management, organizational and follow up skills with a keen attention to detail and qualityDemonstrated ability to leverage business knowledge and HR metrics in decision makingDesired Qualifications
