A Labor Coating Technician in Grand Junction, CO is available through A&W Maintenance. This job requires extensive travel within the United States and will require significant time away from home. Worker will be on their feet, kneeling/bending frequently and work is done outside in all weather conditions. Workers will be required to wear a hard hat, safety glasses, gloves, and safety vest at all times. A Labor Coating Technician in Grand Junction, CO is available through A&W Maintenance. This job requires extensive travel within the United States and will require significant time away from home. For specific tasks workers will be required to wear PPE, including but not limited to blasting and painting safety equipment as necessary including full-face respirators, blasting hood, gloves, work boots, and fall protection, etc.
What You Will Be Doing
- Surface Preparation: High PSI pressure washing 5000 PSI and greater as well as abrasive blasting to achieve the correct surface profile on various substrates.
- Epoxy Spray Application: Operation of plural component spray equipment, proper use of a mil gauge, mixing and applying coating products, maintaining cleanliness of spray equipment, quality control, etc.
- Testing/Inspection of Completed Structures: Holiday testing, adhesion pull testing, visual inspection, and post-installation touch-up.
- Confined Space Entry: Working in manholes, tanks, tunnels, buried structures, etc. Requires the use of fall protection.
- Operating Common Tools: Cordless power tools; grinders, drills, impacts, hammer drills, etc., general hand tools; wrenches, pliers, hammers, shovels, etc.
- Must be willing to travel in and out of state when needed. This will require significant time away from home.
- Must feel comfortable working in a confined space for long periods. (Manholes, tanks, tunnels/large diameter pipe, buried structures, etc.)
- Willing to learn and perform work according to the company’s procedure.
- Must be able to stand for long periods.
- Able to complete a Respirator Fit Test for pre-employment. (Clean shaven face will be required)
- Able to complete a “Confined Space Training” (provided by A&W)
- Able to complete OSHA 10 and other safety training. (provided by A&W)
- Starting Pay $25/hrs.
