A full-time position is available for a Portland, Oregon based Water Treatment Chemical Sales Recruiter.
Garratt-Callahan, (www.garrattcallahan.com), is a National Industrial Water Treatment Chemical Company operating since 1904. Our headquarters is in Burlingame, California near the San Francisco Airport. We have 5 chemical manufacturing plants in the continental United States. And we have a sales force in the 48 contiguous states, Alaska, and the Caribbean.
2024 was a record sales year, and we are expanding nationwide in 2025.
Some of the Duties and Responsibilities of the Recruiter:
Perform searches for qualified candidates according to relevant job criteria, using computer databases, networking, internet recruiting resources, cold calls, media, and employee referrals.
Inform potential candidates about facilities, operations, benefits and job or career opportunities at Garratt-Callahan.
Screen and refer applicants to hiring personnel in the organization, making hiring recommendations when requested.
Work out of your home in the Portland, Oregon area.
Extend offers of employment to selected candidates under the direction of the hiring manager and within the guidelines of Garratt-Callahan’s employment and compensation policies.
Work in conjunction with the Corporate Recruiting Manager and the Director of HR to maintain EEO logs and affirmative action plans.
Work cooperatively with all members of the staffing team to develop and implement staffing plans and activities.
Regular follow up with the respective hiring managers and candidates to ensure timeliness of recruitment process.
Assist with the training of managers and others in interviewing methodology.
Salary is $80,000 to $100,000, depending upon qualifications. Benefits available include medical, dental, vision, life insurance, and 401k.
Some national travel is required.
A successful candidate will have:
Bachelor degree of Business Administration, Communications, Human Resources, or related degree preferred, or equitable work experience. A PHR or SPHR desirable.
A background in full lifecycle recruiting management and human resources with knowledge about human resource policies and practices is required. A minimum of at least one year of successful recruiting experience is required. Must be knowledgeable about state and federal employment laws and demonstrate excellent leadership skills.
Prior experience recruiting and sourcing qualified technical sales candidates in the Chemical Industry is required. Water Treatment Chemical experience is a plus.
