Position Summary:
This position is our leader overseeing all aspects of active projects and is integral to our overall company success. The Project Manager is responsible for all projects, beginning with pre-construction planning through final punch list completion. The Project Manager is responsible for full tracking of active projects in real time to keep projects on schedule and within the budget. The Project Manager will maintain an active role on work sites through in-person site visits, regular meetings with Foreman, leading remarkable team meetings, audit inventory of equipment and materials, managing staff scheduling, and leading the way in staff development and morale.
Primary Duties:
- Lead by example in all aspects of work.
- Lead a high-performing team by facilitating pre-construction hand off meetings to assigned Foreman, regular foreman meetings, detailed weekly staff schedules, regular site visits, and overseeing all aspects of assigned projects in order to serve our customers
- Consistently review project specifications ( site plans, shop drawings, SOPs, costs, production rates, etc.) to determine staffing, materials, tools, and equipment needed prior to delegating tasks or reporting to a site.
- Consistently review and track project budgets and schedules in order to stay ahead of roadblocks, potential issues, customer needs, and foreman deadlines.
- Communicate effectively and consistently to foreman, general contractors, and customers regarding plans on time allotment, tools needed, and order of work.
- Ensure projects remain within budgeted cost and time through detailed documentation of all aspects of assigned projects including value engineered decisions, change orders, and T&M tasks which are available for ownership and leadership review.
- Manage, coach, and mentor field team in order to assist both employees and GE in reaching desired goals and outcomes.
- Remain responsible for and focused on personal and professional growth.
- Maintain and exceed safe work environment requirements set forth by GE and OSHA.
- Assist team with site work including excavating, utility installs, and grading, as needed.
- Manage a full range of projects including residential and commercial site work.
- Continually adapt to weather conditions to complete jobs year round.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Willingness and desire to get dirty and in the trenches with your team
- Passion for developing people
- 5 years of management experience
- 5 years experience supervising direct reports
- 5 years of civil construction experience
- Ability to run various pieces of equipment (Skid Steer, Excavator, Loader, Dozer)
- Ability to communicate clearly to team and other contractors on site
- Ability to fully understand the construction process and requirements to perform a satisfactory result
- Willingness to create a culture of accountability, hard work and fun. This means having hard conversations.
- Must be able to solve complicated problems, in a timely manner.
- Be able to follow, develop, and manage systems to create satisfactory results.

- Basic construction or mechanical knowledge
- Knowledge of standard construction equipment and materials
- Ability to communicate effectively and to collaborate with Equipment Operators, Foreman, Project Managers, General Contractor and other necessary construction personnel.
- Must be physically fit to perform manual labor in all types of environments and conditions, including heavy lifting (in excess of 50 lbs.)
Preferred Qualifications:
- Class A Commercial Drivers License.
- OSHA 30 Construction Certification.
- Usable knowledge of construction best practices.
- Strong site excavation and development construction management knowledge
- Excellent technical skills and understanding of construction methods, contracts, and blueprints.
- Usable knowledge of computer and mobile software.
