Nurse Practitioner Job Description
Overview
Garrett Family Medicine seeks a dedicated and compassionate Nurse Practitioner to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in providing high-quality patient care, conducting assessments, and developing treatment plans. This position requires a strong understanding of various medical practices and the ability to work collaboratively with other healthcare professionals to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
Duties
- Obtains health history and explores chief complaint, performs physical examination and/or procedures as indicated by complaint and physical findings. Orders appropriate laboratory and diagnostic testing and interprets and reviews findings with patient. Records pertinent data in the patient's health record, consisting of subjective and objective findings, assessment and impression. Develops and records a plan of care including prescribing medications and other treatments as indicated.
- Consults physician as indicated. Provides referrals to appropriate physicians, specialist, dentist, or other health care providers for consultation as needed.
- Provides patient education as indicated by the nature of complaint or illness.
- Assists with establishment of policies and procedures to promote more efficient health care services; assists with updating pharmacy formulary; assists with inventory and changes based on needs of students and budget.
- Other duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
- Knowledgeable of current medical treatment practices, guidelines and trends.
- Ability and skill in diagnosis and treatment of patients with acute illness and/or injuries as well as comprehensive health examinations and problem focused issues/treatments.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, for effective patient interaction and documentation.
Required Qualifications
- Master's degree from Nurse Practitioner of Physician's Assistant program from an accredited institution required.
- New graduates will be considered though relevant experience is preferred.
- Current NP or PA licensure in the State of Georgia required.
Preferred Qualifications
- Two years' experience in family practice/urgent care preferred.
Proposed Salary
The salary is $90,000-$115,000/annually based on years of experience.
