Maintenance Technician/Handyman

Garrett Wilson Builders is a custom residential home builder looking to expand our Property Management division. We are hiring energetic responsible individuals that are reliable, self-motivated, can work in a fast-paced environment, are customer service-focused with an eye for detail. Garrett Wilson Builders is looking for individuals to deliver an excellent customer experience by completing all maintenance, repairs, projects, and warranty work in a timely way with little to no impact to the home owner, all while maintaining our high-quality of workmanship.

Responsibilities for the Maintenance Technician:

• Performing a variety of home maintenance duties with complete technical and mechanical skill, including, but not limited to, carpentry, plumbing, electrical, tiling, painting, and general repairs.
• Working with and oversight of contractors/vendors on repairs and maintenance tasks.
• Occasional small renovation and other small project oversight.
• Following company directives & protocols.
• Proactive recognition of maintenance issues and bringing them to Manager’s attention.
• Responsive to issues and emergency requests.
• Perform various types of home repair and maintenance work. Required to be able to diagnose and repair numerous problems in the field.

Skills/Qualifications for Maintenance Technician:

• Minimum 3 years experience in maintenance or other related fields.
• Skilled in plumbing, light electrical, carpentry, tiling, painting, light mechanical and customer service. Ideally candidate is familiar with residential systems including HVAC, generators, and septic systems.
• Fluent English speaker. Or speaks English as a primary language.
• Clean driving record and valid driver’s license.
• Must be eligible to work in the US.
• Capable to climb and handle ladders.
• Capable to work within constricted spaces such as attics, crawlspace, or closets
• Capable to work independently and problem solve.
• Able to work occasional off hours (early mornings, evenings, weekends) when necessary.
• Able to effectively communicate with customers, management, and team members.
• Able to lift 50lbs unassisted

Education

• High school diploma or equivalent with at least 5 years of experience that would provide the skills and abilities that are necessary to complete the job.

Physical Demands

Requires frequently: Standing, lifting of 50 lbs., Carrying 50 lbs., walking, climbing, bending, crouching, crawling, reaching above and below shoulder level; full use of hands, lifting from floor to waist and twisting of the torso, working in cramped spaces, working on ladders, working with power tools.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $60,000.00 - $90,000.00 per year
