The Production and Ops Manager is responsible for overseeing all aspects of print production and equipment operations to ensure seamless project execution, quality control, and on-time delivery. This role includes managing workflow, coordinating resources, troubleshooting equipment issues, and maintaining vendor relationships to support the company’s goals. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background, experience in print production, and the ability to optimize processes for efficiency and cost-effectiveness.
Responsibilities:
• Monitor incoming print jobs and oversee their progress through the production process to ensure timely and accurate completion.
• Collaborate with leadership to plan large projects, determine resource needs, and set production timelines.
• Ensure production schedules align with machine availability, stock levels, and client deadlines.
• Maintain and calibrate printing equipment to ensure accurate color reproduction and high-quality output.
• Proactively monitor printed materials for issues such as registration errors, color inconsistencies, or equipment markings, resolving problems promptly.
• Schedule and oversee routine machine maintenance and repairs, coordinating with technical service providers as needed.
• Monitor and maintain paper inventory and printing supplies, placing orders as needed to ensure uninterrupted operations.
• Build and maintain relationships with vendors to negotiate favorable pricing and terms for materials and supplies.
• Cross-check pricing in estimating software to ensure cost accuracy and profitability.
• Operate all production and bindery equipment efficiently.
• Make recommendations based on needs and maintenance schedules.
• Ensure all equipment is operating safely and efficiently to maximize productivity.
Qualifications
• High School diploma or equivalent required. A degree in a related field is preferred.
• 3-5 years of experience in print production or production management within a printing environment.
• Strong technical knowledge of printing equipment, color calibration, and print quality control.
• Experience with inventory management, supply ordering, and vendor negotiations.
• Excellent organizational, problem-solving, and time-management skills.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality results.
Salary : $50,000 - $70,000
