Job Summary:
The Director of Supply Chain is a strategic leader responsible for overseeing, optimizing, and managing the end-to-end supply chain operations. This role ensures the effective procurement, production, distribution, and inventory management processes align with the organization's goals. The Director of Supply Chain collaborates with internal and external stakeholders to drive efficiency, enhance customer satisfaction, and minimize costs while maintaining high-quality standards.
GENERAL PURPOSE:
The Supply Chain Director is responsible for leading and optimizing the company's procurement, inventory management, and vendor relationship strategies. This role aims to drive cost savings, operational efficiencies, and seamless integration of new acquisitions. The director will ensure proper inventory levels across all branches and manage key vendor relationships to support the company's strategic objectives.

Description of Essential Job Functions% of time spent on taskOversee Procurement Efforts including: 1) Developing and Implementing procurement strategies to achieve cost savings, 2) negotiate contracts and terms with suppliers to ensure favorable conditions and reliable supply of critical components, 3) Monitor market rends and conditions to anticipate supply disruptions and opportunities20%Ensure Proper Inventory Levels including: 1) Develop inventory management systems to maintain optimal stock levels at all branch locations, 2) Conduct regular audits and analysis to optimize inventory levels and address discrepancies, 3) Coordinate with branch managers and Sales staff to forecast demand and adjust stocking levels accordingly20%Integrate Acquisitions into Supply Chain Department by: 1) Understanding new company procurement procedures and critical vendors, 2) Identify opportunities to drive direct material efficiencies and cost reductions for newly acquired entities, 3) Collaborate cross functionally to ensure seamless transition and alignment with new acquisitions to AmeriServe objectives20%Manage Key Vendor Relationships by: 1) Building and maintaining relationships with critical vendor account managers to drive high quality performance, 2) Conduct regular vendor business reviews to ensure proper service levels, 3) Address and resolve any issues or disputes with vendors in a timely and effective manner20%Manage Strategic Planning & Reporting by: 1) Identifying and setting long term supply chain strategies that align with AmeriServe objectives, 2) Prepare and present regular reports on supply chain performance to leadership team and Board of Directors, 3) Identify and implement continuous improvement initiatives to enhance the supply chain efficiencies and reduce costs20%Ensures compliance with and/or follows all organizational systems, programs, training, policies, and procedures as required and complies with relevant legal mandates. - Bachelor's Degree or equivalent.
- Minimum of seven to ten (7-10) years of experience in procurement or supply chain related roles.
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, Visio, PowerPoint)
- Strong knowledge of NetSuite preferred but not required
- Excellent verbal and written communication
- Must have strong time management and organization
- Must be comfortable learning and utilizing new computer systems
- Must be able to use discretion and independent judgement
- Must be able to work in a team environment
- Must be able to pay close attention to details
- Must be able to adapt and flex to a changing environment.
- May occasionally work evenings and/or weekends.
- May occasionally be required to travel to company locations (up to 25% of the time)
