Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and organized Medical Receptionist to join our healthcare team. The Medical Receptionist will play a crucial role in ensuring efficient clinic operations and maintaining a welcoming atmosphere for patients.
Responsibilities
- Greet patients and visitors warmly, ensuring a positive first impression.
- Schedule and confirm appointments while managing the clinic's calendar effectively.
- Collect patient information, including medical history and insurance details.
- Assist with the intake process by measuring vital signs as needed.
- Maintain accurate patient records and ensure compliance with medical terminology standards.
- Process billing and coding for services rendered, ensuring accuracy in documentation.
- Coordinate with healthcare providers to facilitate patient care, including urgent care situations.
- Provide support in various departments such as geriatrics, inpatient care, and trauma services as required.
- Uphold confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA regulations at all times.
- Handle phone inquiries and direct calls to appropriate personnel or departments.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent; additional certification in medical administration is a plus.
- Proficiency in medical terminology and coding practices.
- Basic life support certification is preferred but not mandatory.
- Experience in a clinical setting, particularly in urgent care or trauma centers, is advantageous.
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail and the ability to multitask effectively.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with a focus on customer service.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a team-oriented environment.
- Familiarity with electronic health record (EHR) systems is beneficial.
