District Office PURPOSE STATEMENT
The Director of Curriculum and Assessment will provide leadership in the development, implementation and evaluation of the district's curriculum, instructional programs and assessment through a Multi-Tiered Systems of Supports (MTSS) framework. The Director will oversee the continuous improvement of curricular frameworks, assessment systems, and support structures across the district. This position plays a critical role in ensuring all students have access to rigorous and responsive educational experiences, with targeted supports and interventions. In addition to the previously mentioned responsibilities, the role will also include :
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

- Curriculum Mapping : Developing a structured curriculum map that outlines the scope and sequence of learning objectives, content, and assessments across all grade levels and subjects that aligns with state standards and district goals
- Culturally Responsive Pedagogy : Ensuring that curriculum is culturally responsive, inclusive and promotes academic rigor for all student groups.
- Multi-Tiered Systems of Support : Provide leadership in the design, implementation, and refinement of the district's MTSS framework including tiered interventions to meet the diverse needs of all students.
- Formative and Summative Assessments : Overseeing the development and implementation of a balanced assessment system that includes both formative assessments for ongoing feedback and summative assessments to measure student achievement against learning goals and to inform instructional practices
- Data Analysis : Leading efforts to train staff in effective data analysis practices and data-informed decision making to improve student outcomes. Professional Learning and Support : Collaborating with other district leaders to provide training, technical assistance and resources to school leaders and teachers on effective assessment practices, including creating valid and reliable assessments, interpreting data, and using assessment results to inform instruction.
- Continuous School Improvement : Leading efforts to regularly review and revise the curriculum based on assessment data, feedback from stakeholders, and emerging educational research and trends
- Early Literacy Development : Leading the design and implementation of research-based strategies to promote early literacy skills, including phonemic awareness, phonics, fluency, vocabulary, and comprehension in early childhood students.
- Early Mathematics Instruction : Developing a comprehensive and sequential mathematics curriculum that fosters conceptual understanding, problem-solving skills, and mathematical reasoning in early childhood education.
- Literacy and Math Integration : Promoting interdisciplinary connections between literacy and mathematics instruction to enhance students' critical thinking, communication, and analytical skills in both subject areas.
- Assessment in Early Education : Implementing developmentally appropriate assessment tools and practices to monitor and support the literacy and math progress of young learners, ensuring early intervention when needed.
- Professional Development in Early Literacy and Math : Providing specialized training and resources for early childhood educators to enhance their instructional practices in literacy and mathematics instruction.
- Family and Community Engagement : Collaborating with families, caregivers, and community partners to support early literacy and math development outside the classroom and foster a holistic approach to children's learning.
- Accountability : Ensure district compliance with state and federal mandates
- Related to curriculum, assessment and student supports.

CERTIFICATION
Master's degree in Education or related field required or Indiana certification as a Building level Administrator or higher
