About the Role
We are seeking a dynamic and service-driven Manager on Duty to join our Closter team. This individual will play a key role in the day-to-day operations of the store, ensuring an outstanding customer experience, leading by example on the floor, and supporting the team across all departments. A strong background in wine is highly preferred, as this role will also involve educating customers and staff, supporting events, and enhancing our wine culture.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the store team during assigned shifts, acting as the primary point of contact for staff and customers.
- Ensure smooth daily operations: opening/closing procedures, team supervision, floor coverage, and adherence to company standards.
- Provide exceptional service and product knowledge, particularly in wine and specialty items.
- Support training and development of team members, especially around wine knowledge and customer engagement.
- Maintain visual merchandising and cleanliness standards across the store.
- Handle customer inquiries, resolve issues promptly, and escalate when necessary.
- Monitor inventory levels and coordinate with department leads as needed.
- Assist with wine tastings, in-store events, and promotional activities.
- Ensure all safety, compliance, and security protocols are followed.
- 2 years of experience in retail or hospitality, ideally in a supervisory or floor leadership role.
- Strong knowledge of wine and enthusiasm for sharing that knowledge with others.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- Proactive, hands-on approach and ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
- Availability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
- Previous experience in wine retail, WSET certification, or equivalent knowledge is a plus.
