What are the responsibilities and job description for the Suites & Premium Experience Internship position at Gary SouthShore RailCats?
The Gary SouthShore RailCats are seeking current college students to be a part of the team’s 2025 season. As a Suite & Premium Experience Internship, you will get first-hand experience in the day to day operation of a professional baseball franchise. This is a seasonal internship position which requires college credit and will last the duration of the 2025 season only.
SUITE & PREMIUM EXPERIENCE INTERN RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Serve guests in premium areas during games and special events to ensure an exceptional fan experience
- Coordinate the on-going daily setup and cleanup of all events hosted at the stadium on the suite level and picnic area
- Working closely with the Food & Beverage Department on placing food and beverage orders, food preparation, and waste management
- Inventory management and stocking of pantry areas
- Responsible for the general appearance and cleanliness of all premium areas
- Understanding pricing, menu options, and POS capabilities for all premium areas in the ballpark
- Adhere to all uniform requirements and team policies
- Assist with all tarp pulls - which may include non-game days, weekends and or holidays
- Other duties assigned by the Manager of Hospitality & Special Events.
GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES AND EXPECTATIONS:
- Have Fun!!!
- Be excited to work in a professional sports environment
- Fan and community engagement (mascot appearances, pocket schedule delivery, etc.)
- Assist with stadium cleanliness
- Special events
- Assist with all tarp pulls - which may include non-game days, weekends and or holidays
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Past food and beverage serving experience is preferred
- Undergraduate student in Hospitality Management (preferably junior or senior) attending an accredited university
- Must be able to earn college credit for internship-no exceptions
- Must be able to commit to work the entire internship period from start to finish
- Willingness and ability to work long hours, including nights, weekends and holidays as required
- Ability to lift at least 50 lbs. on a regular basis
- Extremely coachable, upbeat and positive attitude
- Highly motivated with strong work ethic
- Passion for providing an exceptional fan experience
- Strong desire to work in a team environment
