Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Electrical & Instrumentation Engineer to lead project scopes, interface with cross-functional teams, and oversee electrical and control system designs.
The ideal candidate will have 8 years of experience in the chemical, refining, or biofuels industry, with expertise in P&ID development, electrical calculations, and project leadership.
Key Responsibilities:
- Function as a project lead for small projects or area lead for larger projects.
- Define project scope from receipt of basic data to Issue for Design process deliverables.
- Interface with clients' cross-functional teams to define operating requirements.
- Design, specify, and service electrical systems, including power generation, control systems, cabling, wiring, lighting, motor control centers, communication systems, and more.
- Evaluate quality, robustness, and capability of newly designed and installed capital projects.
- Lead industrial electrical power distribution, from high voltage (35kV ) to low voltage (120V-1kV).
- Manage design, specification, selection, and services for instrumentation and control systems, including basic process control systems, safety systems, control panels, analyzer systems, field instrumentation, and valves.
- Participate in Process Hazard Analysis and develop process design basis for other disciplines.
- Develop project estimates, scopes, and schedules, and manage scope change technically and commercially.
Requirements:
- Good understanding of industry codes and standards (NFPA 70E/NEC, OSHA, IEEE, ANSI, NEMA, API, and ASI).
- 8 years of qualified related experience.
- Experience in the chemical, refining, or biofuels industry required.
- P&ID development, equipment sizing, electrical calculations, and instrumentation expertise.
Education/Training/Certifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or Control Systems.
- Professional Engineering (P.E.) license preferred but not required.
