Experience in the public assembly industry (stadiums, arenas, and/or convention centers) is preferred but not required, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Requirements

- Develop and implement processes for the organization’s network and IT systems.
- Establish Standard Operating Procedures and new operating models to expand efficiencies and efficacy standards to support the facility and events.
- Create continuity protocols to minimize disruption to business operations in the event of emergencies or data loss. Establish and maintain redundancy and single points of failure to maximize uptime and eliminate outages.
- Analyze IT and Technical Services infrastructure and systems performance to assess operating costs, productivity levels, upgrade requirements, and other metrics and needs.
- Configure and implement switching, routing, wireless, and network security solutions using network design best practices to meet business objectives.
- Oversee the installation of client/promoter/vendor network, telecommunications, and various other technologies, such as Wi-Fi, IPTV, Audio, Visual, Lighting settings, etc., for events and shows. Assist and support other team members and departments in resolving operational issues affecting clients/promoters/vendors/events. Work with various third parties to facilitate, manage, and execute special event Technology requirements.
- Maintain various WAN, LAN, security, wireless, and cloud networking devices using industry best practices to ensure optimum network and equipment performance.
- Document physical and logical network designs and describe their nature to provide management with the details they require to approve new network designs and proposed network changes.
- Perform research to stay current on emerging technologies and industry trends. Develop SOPs and new operating models to expand efficiency across the organization.
- Lead implementation of new technologies, identifying user needs and creating a plan to meet those needs.
- Oversee the health and security of systems and networks through IT security audits and investigations.
- Develop, implement, document, and maintain effective facility maintenance policies, procedures, and programs, including preventative maintenance on all audio and video systems, computer software and hardware, and all telecommunication systems.
- Prepare and provide the management team with specific reports and documents, including, but not limited to, work schedules, payroll documents (timecard tabulations and approvals), subordinates' performance appraisals, purchase request orders, department operating budget, capital improvement budget projects, special project reports, cell phone usage reports, updates and/or recommendations, and event reports.
- Oversee and maintain relationships with external Technology vendors and service providers, including related contracted maintenance agreements. Develop bid specifications and renewal agreements and manage all related items to ensure quality performance levels are achieved.
- Oversee staff of full-time, part-time, and contractual technology services, including computing and telecommunications support personnel. Ensure appropriate scheduling to maintain coverage during facility operating hours and for specific event needs. Delegate tasks effectively and monitor performance to ensure timely completion and high-quality results.
- Maintain department employee records and provide group and individual communication related to department goals and objectives, planning sessions, project updates, department performance reviews, individual performance reviews, and disciplinary actions.
- Attend required senior staff and departmental meetings. Develop and maintain a harmonious working relationship with all other departments.
Position requires the following skills and abilities:
- Demonstrate proper knowledge and use of all procedures, techniques, machines, materials, equipment, and tools used in telecommunications, as well as computer construction and maintenance.
- Experience in analysis, implementation, and performance evaluation of Information Technology systems and their specifications.
- Demonstrable proper knowledge and technique in using technological hardware and software systems currently used by Gas South District.
- Understand and be capable of ensuring that all laws, building codes, ordinances, policies, procedures, risk management, and emergency procedures are followed.
- Experience with networking, telephony, troubleshooting, project management, and technical support.
- Demonstrate knowledge of operational procedures, facility capabilities, industry terminology, event-related services, and technical requirements for the types of events anticipated at the facility, particularly the methods, techniques, and procedures for repairing and maintaining all computer and telecommunication-related materials.
- Be familiar with supervision, training, budget preparation, and purchasing principles and techniques.
- Possess any licenses, certificates, or training required by local, state, or national authorities for the operations of the equipment found in the facility.
- Respond to routine, precautionary, and emergency alarms from building automation and life safety systems. Follow and adhere to all safety precautions and procedures.
- Read and comprehend blueprints, drawings, and other construction or special project-related materials.
- Meet the job's physical demands, which include getting in and around the facility (which requires personal mobility) and working from various heights. Must sometimes perform strenuous physical duties, including lifting, carrying, moving, and climbing.
- Be able to withstand moderate to loud noises.
- Operate portable radio and standard office equipment.
- Follow oral and written instructions and communicate effectively with others in both oral and written form.
- Organize and prioritize work to meet deadlines.
- Work effectively under pressure and/or stringent schedule and produce accurate results.
