Handyman & Small Projects Salesperson
Full-Time | Residential Remodeling Industry
Position Summary
We are seeking a motivated and organized Handyman & Small Projects Salesperson to manage, estimate, and sell residential home improvement and repair projects. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working closely with homeowners, identifying their needs, creating solutions, and managing the sales cycle from the first call through project handoff. The ideal candidate is a self-starter who can scope and estimate their own work and is excited to promote ongoing services like Home Maintenance Programs.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct intake calls and discovery conversations to understand homeowner needs and qualify leads
- Present and sell in-home consultations or subcontractor walkthroughs as part of the scoping process
- Prepare and present field estimates or detailed proposals depending on project complexity
- Draft and present construction contracts, collect deposits, and hand off signed jobs for production.
- Coordinate and lead subcontractor walkthroughs for specialty trades.
- Write proposals and contracts for Time & Materials or Fixed Bid projects.
- Collaborate with internal coordinators to finalize production schedules and project start timelines.
- Communicate proactively with coordinators, technicians, and project management teams to ensure a smooth handoff.
- Maintain ongoing relationships with clients for future projects, referrals, and Home Maintenance Programs
- Maintain digital calendar with meetings, follow-ups, and client milestones.
- Write and track estimates using company templates and pricing tools.
- Maintain and execute a prospecting plan approved by the Sales Manager
- Support marketing initiatives by participating in home events, community activities, or client appreciation campaigns.
Qualifications
- 5 years of experience in residential construction, remodeling, or home repair services
- Background in sales and client relationship management
- Estimating experience required; must be able to self-scope and price projects
- Familiarity with home systems (plumbing, electrical, carpentry, finishes)
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Organized, detail-oriented, and confident working independently
- Comfortable using CRM systems, Microsoft Office, and estimating tools
- Valid driver’s license and reliable vehicle

- Minimum of 45 new client intake calls per quarter
- Minimum of 30 in-home or virtual client meetings per quarter
- Minimum of $1,000,000 in annual sold work at 40% gross profit
- Minimum of 5 Home Maintenance Programs sold per quarter
- 15 billable hours per week for estimating, site visits, and follow-ups
- 96% client and internal team satisfaction scores
- 10 referrals or introductions requested monthly
Compensation
Base Salary: $72,100/year
Commission: Based on gross profit margin of sold work
Average annual pay around $100,000
