We are seeking a full-time ARCHITECTURAL SALES REPRESENTATIVE to join our dynamic and growing sales team in our Livonia, Michigan office. Educating and presenting new products to architects, engineers, lighting designers, and interior designers to develop and maintain long term relationships is the primary focus. You will also interface with our applications and controls department to provide value added services to your customer base. Candidate will need to be a self-starter, self-disciplined, and must be comfortable interacting with customers on all levels. Successful candidates will be working closely with the entire sales team both inside and outside.
Some of the job duties will include:
- Call on accounts on a regular basis for sales and technical support.
- Work alongside other sales staff for complete project management.
- Presenting financial business cases to end-users.
- Possess the ability to present and effectively communicate in-group settings.
- Coordinate between the electrical distributor, contractor, manufacturer and GBA Quotations, Sales, and Specification teams to provide a complete and competitive bid package.
- Generate interest in all product releases and new campaign launches and actively manage the full sales cycle.
Ensure that all clients receive the highest quality of service through all streams of communication. - Secure meetings with ongoing clients for both in-person and virtual product presentations.
- Develop new business opportunities and strengthen relationships with architects, engineers, lighting designers, interior designers, as well as building owners.
- Develop product specifications and assist with the evaluation of clients’ lighting/design needs.
Interpret sales metrics and record trends to project future sales forecasts and targets. - Team player with good people and problem-solving skills.
- Determine customer priority and develop long term customer relationships.
- Use agency applications and controls specialists as appropriate for design work.
- Define/outline and proactively manage budget pricing and customer commitment to ensure a favorable result for the customer as well as the agency.
Required Qualifications:
- The ideal candidate for this position will reside in Southeast Michigan.
- College degree in Architecture, Interior Design, Engineering, Distribution, or Business. Or 3-5 years Lighting Sales experience.
- Lighting Certification (LC) preferred but not required.
- Software Experience – Microsoft Office Suite
- Excellent organizational skills and effective communication skills
- Ability to work on multiple projects and manage workload to meet project deadlines
- Ability to work independently as well as interact effectively with others
- Ability to travel locally 3-5 days per week
- Strong organizational, leadership, and both oral and written communication skills are essential.
