Because we are an Engineered-To-Order provider of process equipment, you’ll enjoy the ability to work on a number of different projects with our manufacturing leadership team. As our Manufacturing Manager, you will work with our Operations and Manufacturing leadership team to lead our staff and improve our shop workflow, productivity, and output which will generate improved efficiency and repeat business for GasTech.
Key Contributions:
- Planning/organizing the workforce across operations, while directing and delegating through team leaders.
- Manage and understand departmental capacity and manage hours, jobs, and wages to meet internal budgetary targets, while meeting and/or exceeding customer quality and delivery requirements.
- Develop and drive continuous improvement & safety plans & initiatives in a safe injury/accident-free workplace; lead by example.
- Implement strategies in alignment with strategic initiatives and provide a clear sense of direction and focus.
- Communicate with employees about performance expectations.
- Job, space, tooling, and equipment planning as required, to maximize throughput.
- Ensuring proper consumables are available, adequately marked and stored, while minimizing inventory carrying costs.
- Ensuring personnel are properly qualified to GasTech Specifications.
- Knowledgeable in all ASME and ANSI Code requirements.
- Knowledgeable and capable of managing all departments: Vessels, Structures, Coils, Piping, Assembly, and shipping and receiving.
- Ensuring personnel are “in-procedure” when welding, as required by customer order.
- Ensuring department-specific employee training programs are implemented and followed.
- Providing job status and scheduling information to Project Engineering and other stakeholders.
- Reviewing and approving employee timecards.
- Provide regular employee performance reviews, job training, and job development for the Department.
- Proper, professional, and consistent housekeeping.
- Identifying maintenance requirements and ensuring their completion on all department equipment.
- Able to communicate and effectively deal with Customers and Customer representatives.
- Establish cause and corrective actions to eliminate Quality incidents.
- Able to communicate and effectively deal with all members of the staff.
- Moderate level of customer contact is required (travel on occasion).

- High school diploma or GED is required.
- Previous demonstrated leadership ability and technical knowledge in the manufacture of pressure vessels, structural steel, and oil and gas processing equipment is required.
- A minimum of 10 years’ experience in a heavy manufacturing environment is required. Specifically, 5 years of experience leading teams and 5 years of experience working with pressure vessels and processing equipment is preferred but not required.
- A demonstrated and thorough understanding of welding, layout, and various ASME and ANSI vessel and pipping codes is required.
- A thorough understanding of Lean methodologies is required.
- Higher vocational welding background is preferred.
- The ability to act with integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality is required.
- The ability to remain organized with a keen attention to detail in a fast-paced environment is required.
- The ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines utilizing excellent time management skills is required.
- Strong and effective verbal and written communication skills and interpersonal and conflict resolution skills are required.
- Experience in an ISO 9001 environment is preferred but not required.
- Proficiency with computer applications, including MS office applications, and MRP/ERP systems or their derivatives is preferred but not required.
